Back in 2012, Hurricane Sandy battered the Northeast, causing an extreme amount of flood damage. Since Hurricane Sandy, FEMA has required all residences in designated flood zones to be raised above the 100 year floodplain elevation in order to qualify for flood insurance. This property was located in one of these flood zones, prompting the engineer of record (EOR) to design this new home’s foundation to be supported by MacLean Power Systems (MPS) helical piles. FSR, an MPS certified helical pile installer, was contracted to install the 16 MPS helical piles, which they accomplished in less than one working day.
